Geomorphology

The Guadalupe Restoration Project lies within the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex. Located within a former oil field, the site includes a network of roads that enables visitors a rare perspective to view this unique and beautiful coastal dune complex. Consequently, the Guadalupe Restoration Project provides an excellent opportunity to train volunteers at the Dunes Center on the geomorphology of the local dunes. The following is a self-guided Geomorphological Field Trip of the Guadalupe Restoration Project. Also included is the Dunes Center Docent Manual, which contains information on sand movement and dune landforms, answers to frequently asked questions and other interesting facts about the local dunes.
